“Der kleine Heinrich” is a cozy restaurant by the market square of Glückstadt that has been welcoming its guests for over 30 years already.
It is named after the prideful whaling ship “Der kleine Heinrich”, in English “the little Henry” that the people of Glückstadt used to take to Greenland.
Today, the blue-white tile paintings by the local artist Hans-Peter Wirsing commemorate these times on our walls. In this cozy, rustic and maritime ambience we serve regional cuisine according to old recipes from Holstein. And, of course, the original, mildly salted and young Matjes herring from Glückstadt in its most delicious variations.
